Abdul Alimi

Abdul’s foray into entrepreneurship started at a very young age. Being the son of a diplomat, Abdul had the advantage of travelling around the world early in life with his family. This opportunity broadened his perspective as he was intrigued by the different approaches that could be leveraged to solve unique region-based problems.

Right before his 18th birthday and while a freshman at Baruch College in New York City, Abdul started Versatility Online, a small technology business focused on designing and implementing e-commerce solutions for small businesses in the NYC area during the dot com era. This was the official start of his entrepreneurship journey as he discovered his passion for developing small and emerging companies.

Over the years, Abdul has founded several technology startups as well as being an early-stage investor in startups in multiple sectors ranging from renewable energy, transportation, IoT, agriculture as well as Artificial intelligence.

He has assisted many companies in different capacities from large scale corporations to small family owned businesses. As an executive with one of the world’s largest consulting firm, Abdul successfully managed cross-functional high-performance work teams focused on delivering multi-million-dollar mission critical solutions for large corporations. Abdul has also served as Chief of Staff and Technical Advisor to the CIO of a California-based bank where he provided strategic advice on digital transformation.

When asked about why he is so passionate about helping small companies achieve their goals, Abdul references his own experiences as having owned small businesses himself, particularly having understood the challenges small businesses face as well as the dynamics in understanding and trying to solve the problems he faced.

Abdul has spent almost two decades assisting and growing small companies. He received a degree in Management Information Systems from Baruch College. He enjoys traveling with his family and exploring different cultures.
