VLP Lift Systems LLC had developed a novel conceptual engineering design of a compression-less sub-surface pump technology, RPGX. The pump design conceptually handles 100% gas in oil & gas producing wells without experiencing the failure mechanisms associated with such high gas-to-liquid ratio – a first in the industry. With several IP / patent applications in progress, VLP was seeking to fully develop the product and head towards commercialization. They engaged DCG to help understand the value of this product, develop an overall strategy, secure funding for the product development and develop a commercialization plan.
Our strategy team helped establish the “value creation” and “value capture” hypothesis and worked through the choices around competition, customer, technology and identity for VLP. We determined that the“value-chain” strategy (orienting towards collaboration while investing in execution) was a viable strategy for the organization. We developed investor packs to generate interest and secure funding through commercialization. In the process we
Developed a product pricing strategy (value based pricing)
Developed financial model / pro-forma financials
Determined appropriate pre-funding valuation for the company
Established a Go-To-Market strategy focused on generating the most value
Our engagement through the entire process helped to successfully secured multi-million dollar funding at a favorable equity level for VLP. The company is making good progress and achieving the milestones set on their commercialization road-map.
