The organization had identified the need for a mentoring program and set out to create an online platform (MentorMatchMe.Org) with the purpose of matching mentors with mentees especially within the minority community . The idea was to provide an avenue for matching based on profile analysis and identification of critical criteria that enhance the chances of a successful lifelong informal mentoring relationship.
The organization engaged DCG to help co-create this platform including the enhancement of the concept, design & development of the online platform, formulation of the operations and sustainability strategy and shepherd the initial roll out and marketing.
Working hand-in-hand with the organization, we established some guiding principles centered around three major pillars : platform design and development; program operations and management; program evaluation. We developed the details of these pillars and created a practical road map for execution. Working in two major work streams (Operating Model and Platform Development), we created and tested the platform using agile principles and developed a robust roll-out plan.
MentorMatchMe.Org went live ahead of schedule and experienced a good rate of adoption. The MVP continued to be improved based on user feedback. The impact of the program has been significant within the immediate customer base (hundreds of users across all sides of the platform) and MentorMatchMe is registered in the mind of the community as a trusted facilitator of mentorship. The organization is planning on expanding its reach.
